Water clerk
As a port clerk, you are the captain's assistant at the dock. Your main task is to clear ships in and out with customs. You have frequent contact with the captain and handle tasks such as the boarding of crew members, travel documents and/or permits, and transportation for crew changes. You ensure that ship documents are in order, that pilots arrive at the ship on time, and that loading and unloading teams are ready. Your responsibilities also include ensuring supplies (food and drinking water), collecting waste oil, storing bunker material, and arranging repairs for any damages. This course provides insight into the profession and is a good stepping stone for further education, such as Operator Tanker Agency.
