Offshore employee

An offshore worker operates on installations (such as oil or gas platforms) located at sea. Depending on the role, tasks can range from maintaining equipment, operating machinery, ensuring safety, to performing administrative duties. The job often requires long periods away from home and the ability to work under challenging and isolated conditions. Generally, they have long working hours and must be available for emergencies. They typically report to a manager onshore or to the head of their department.
