Advanced port operations employee
As an advanced port operations employee, you work and learn four days a week at a bulk, container handling, RoRo, or breakbulk company in the port, and attend school one day a week for theoretical training. During this program, you will gain practical experience with various large machines such as forklifts, terminal tractors, straddle carriers, loaders, dumpers, and cranes. You will also obtain your forklift certification during the course. To effectively communicate with everyone involved in cargo handling at the port, you will receive instruction in English and German. Additionally, you will study subjects including Dutch, Mathematics, Career and Citizenship, Hazardous Materials, Port Technology, Cargo Handling, Port Logistics, and Cargo Administration.
